Remove volumes from storage groups

Storage groups are a collection of devices that are stored on the array, and an application, a server, or a collection of servers use them.

This procedure explains how to remove volumes from storage groups.

To remove volumes from storage groups:

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Select Storage > Storage Groups.
  3. Select the storage group and click An icon showing the letter i, signifying information.
  4. Click the number next to Volumes.
  5. Select one or more volumes and click Remove Volumes to open the Remove Volume dialog box.
    Note: Removing a volume that has a SRDF relationship from the storage group could render the SRDF unmanageable.
  6. To unbind the volumes, select Unbind or Unmap, depending on the storage operating environment.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • Click Run Now to perform the operation now.

    • Expand Run Now and click Add to Job List to add this task to the job list, from which you can schedule or run the task at your convenience. For more information, see Schedule jobs and Preview jobs.
